Building People in Health Care
Health Care is fundamental to the economic and social development and growth of any community. Temasek Foundation International supports the training of health care professionals, educators, nurses and specialists, and the upgrading of nursing curriculum, pedagogy and standards, so that better quality of care can be provided in hospitals and health care institutions. Programmes we support include the training of nurse leaders and specialists in improving standards of nursing care, and the training of community health workers in promoting public health education in their local communities.
Building People in Education
Education opens doors to knowledge and skills and helps communities to develop and grow, leading to better opportunities, higher levels of employability, and sustained development. Temasek Foundation International supports education leaders to enhance educational practices, policies, and curriculum to adapt to the changing needs of society. Programmes we support include the training of leaders, educators, and specialists to build capabilities in education in schools, vocational institutions and technical colleges, and universities.
Building Bridges Between Peoples
Asia, home to four billion people, is a community of diverse regions, languages, cultures and faiths. Embracing this diversity, Temasek Foundation International supports networking platforms for students, leaders, and opinion-shapers from different countries to come together as one community to learn together, share experiences, and build upon the diversity of cultures.
Building Institutions of Excellence
National and local institutions of governance, regulatory frameworks and public policy and public administration capabilities constitute the macrosystems that help to foster a conducive environment for economic growth and development. As centres of growth, trade, and business, cities need to be well-planned in its management of water and utilities, waste management, housing, transportation, and communications. Temasek Foundation International lends its support to regional public sector leaders through programmes that moot the exchange of ideas that shape the economic development, urban development and public administration policies, regulations and systems in their respective communities.
Rebuilding Lives and Livelihoods affected by Disasters
Communities struck by disasters suffer for long periods in their journey of recovery, especially affecting their physical, mental, emotional and economic well-being. Temasek Foundation International is committed to supporting communities affected by such disasters through disaster-preparedness capability programmes and post-disaster rehabilitation efforts to help rebuild lives and livelihoods.
Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme (STEP)
Set up as a Charity and IPC in 1997, STEP's programmes focus on social and cultural activities, leadership, environment and innovation, to help youth in Asia build bridges of friendship, goodwill, and understanding. Initiatives under STEP include the Sunburst Youth Camp, Sunburst Brain Camp and the Sunburst Environment Programme. These programmes provide youth with opportunities to connect and understand each other, and further ignite their passion for neuroscience, innovation and the environment.
